Jerk With A Bomb
JERK WITH A BOMB

Jerk With A Bomb are one of our earliest recording clients. The Hive has been involved with the band from their album, "Death To False Metal", back in 1999, to their critically acclaimed "Pyrokinesis" in 2002.

The foundation of the group, started back in 1996 as a four-track recording project of One Easy Skag (Steve McBean), after the dissolution of his Wrong Records/No Idea hardcore band, Gus. The few of us that have the original out-of-print demo from those days can hear the different influences (some extreme!)

The band then became McBean and The Silo (Joshua Wells, who was a member in Radio Berlin up until 2003). They began casually playing punk rock shows around town, culminating in the 1999 recording, after the break up of Ex Dead Teenager, of which both Josh and Steve were members.

In 2001, the band grew to a 3 piece, with the addition of Christoph Hofmeister (also of Ex Dead Teenager) on bass. It is with this lineup that JWAB recorded Pyrokinesis. After that album's release Amber Webber joined the line-up.

Jerk With A Bomb have received comparisons to Palace, Nick Cave, Nick Drake, Three Mile Pilot, and Long Hind Legs.

Currently JWAB have been recording new material under the monikers Black Mountain (the full JWAB band) and Pink Mountaintops (Steve McBean's solo stuff with the rest of the band as back-up) and this group of musicians have achieved international recognition in those projects. Christoph until 2006 was playing in the re-formed Daddy's Hands.
