The Mennonites were a rock band. Not too heavy though... well, kind of heavy at times, but always very melodic. They are a 4 piece comprised of Ryan Peters, Steve Hubert (of The Fireside Room) , Ryan Sawatzky (who also has an 11 string guitar solo project), and Darcy Bassplayer (of The Metic). These 4 musicians also comprised a substantial chunk of Jon-Rae Fletcher's The River. It is in bands such as this that we get a good idea of just how incestuous the Vancouver underground music scene is. Even though The Mennonites are now more, most of the member's have moved onto play in Ladyhawk.
