The now defunct X-Wing Phyter existed solely as a studio band. They were formed back in 1996 as a way to try out The Hive's new studio gear. They closed up shop sometime around 2000 due to the fact it was getting to be too much like work. Their brand of souless funk managed to conjure up images of The Talking Heads, Captain Beefhart and that wacky guy from the B52's. Experimentation and levity were the key elements when this band set out to record tracks. Members included Rob Leickner on vocals and Terry Miles (Ashley Park, Saturnhead) on the music mainly but Colin Stewart, Jim Routhier, Ryan Matthews as well as many others helped to flesh out their sound. They only recorded 11 songs throughout there existence, we've included a few here for you to listen to.
